Ralf Scherschmidt
Portfolio Manager Principal
Ralf joined Oberweis Asset Management in November 2006 and is the lead Portfolio Manager for the International Opportunities strategy. Most recently, he was an International Equity Analyst at Jetstream Capital, LLC, a premier global hedge fund. Ralf has also worked for Aragon Global Management, LLC, Bricoleur Capital Management, LLC and NM Rothschild & Sons Limited. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS, summa cum laude, in Finance, Accounting and Chinese from Georgetown University. Ralf grew up and has work experience in Europe and has also lived in South Africa and Taiwan. He has studied abroad in China and Taiwan, and is fluent in German. Ralf has been published in the Journal of Private Equity.
Daniel J. Burr, CFA
Analyst
Dan joined Oberweis Asset Management in March 2008 as an Analyst for the International Opportunities strategy. He was previously employed by Federated Investors, Inc. as an Equity Research Analyst, where he provided research coverage on large and mid cap stocks within the energy sector. Dan is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Dan is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute. Dan earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in Economics and Business Management from Cornell University.
John Wong, CFA
Portfolio Manager, Asia Opportunities
John joined Oberweis Asset Management in September 2007 and is the lead Portfolio Manager for the Asia Opportunities strategy. John is also responsible for covering Asian equities on the International Opportunities strategy. Previously, John was a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco. Prior to that, John was part of the International Small Cap team at Founders Asset Management and also was a Portfolio Manager of the CVO Greater China Fund at Offitbank. He is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. John earned his MBA from Stanford University and two BA degrees with high honors in Business Administration and Hotel Administration from Washington State University. John was born and attended schools in Singapore and is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Hainan and English. John is a member of the CFA Institute and is based in San Francisco.
Adnan Bokhari
International Trader
Adnan joined Oberweis Asset Management in March 2010 as International Trader. Adnan was previously employed by Seligman/Riversource Investments in New York as International Trader where he was responsible for trading international stocks for quant, hedge and mutual funds. He also worked for US Trust Securities as a Fixed Income Trader and Dreyfus Corporation as a Brokerage Account Trader. Adnan earned a BA in Banking and Finance with a Minor in Mathematics from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.
Jim E. Chartrand
Director of Trading
Jim joined Oberweis Asset Management in June 2005 as the Director of Trading and has over 15 years of investment industry experience. Previously, Jim was a Senior Equity Trader at Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company in Kansas City. He also worked for Paladin Investment Associates as Director of Trading, where he was responsible for managing all aspects of the equity trading desk. He began his career with Investment Advisers, Inc. in 1992, where he held various positions within the operations and trading departments. Jim earned a double major in Finance and Economics from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a member of Security Traders Association of Chicago.
James W. Oberweis, CFA
President Principal
Jim is President of Oberweis Asset Management and oversees all investment research at Oberweis. He has spent his entire career managing portfolios of high growth, small cap companies. Jim is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Jim earned an MBA with high honors from the University of Chicago and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois. He has been a featured guest on CNBC and Bloomberg television and authors a growth stock column for Forbes. Jim is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the Economic Club of Chicago, the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago, and the CFA Institute.
